My view on self-love

For me, self-love is not a state one can achieve.

It is also not a lasting feeling of strength or satisfaction.

Self-love is something fluid. Something that comes and goes.

Sometimes it manifests itself in continuing to do so.

Sometimes, it's precisely in stopping.

Not to become tougher, but more honest with myself.

For a long time, I thought that self-love meant always accepting yourself.

Today I know: It often begins where I don't like myself at the moment.

– and yet I stay.

For me, self-love means not abandoning myself.

Not during difficult times.

Not in moments of doubt, shame, or fatigue.

She is quiet.

It doesn't need to be celebrated.

It manifests itself in everyday life, in small decisions,

in the way I talk to myself when no one is listening.

My view on self-love is not a perfect stance.

It's a practice.

A constant return to myself –

even when it's inconvenient.
