For me, honesty doesn't mean saying everything.
And not to always be strong or consistent either.
Honesty begins much earlier – with myself.
It reveals itself in moments when I admit to myself,
that something isn't working right now.
That I am tired.
Overwhelmed.
Or simply not as far along as I thought I should be.
For me, being honest means not ignoring me.
Not to make myself smaller, but also not to make myself bigger,
than it feels right now.
Don't sugarcoat everything – and don't dramatize it either.
I've learned that honesty can be quiet.
She doesn't have to explain, justify, or convince.
Sometimes it's enough to nod inwardly and say:
That's how it is right now.
Honesty also means recognizing boundaries.
To notice when something is no longer right.
When a yes would actually be a no.
And to have the courage to pursue it.
For me, honesty is closely linked to self-love.
and with mindfulness.
Because only if I am honest with myself,
I can really stay close to myself.
Honesty doesn't always make life easier.
But she makes it clearer.
And more real.
And that's exactly what's important to me.
